What I would like to see for a 2nd anniversary present is something new other than a mini-pet. Why stick with the same thing when there are virtually limitless possibilities out there?

Think of things like the santa or pumpkin hats, or a 2-year-old emote, or a halo that displays around your head...whatever, but we already have a pet.

I wonder if Anet will doing something when the 4th of July comes up. Did they do anything last year on the 4th of July? I wasnt playing GW at that time.

While I think Anet should still make new minipets here and there. I think that the second birthday presant should be something new/diffrent.

I want CE upgrades for Prophecies and Factions including Glint in Prophcies CE and Kuunavang in Factions CE. It would be incentive for me to spend some extra money just to get dragon minatures.

And they need to ensure chapter 3 CE is produced in time for prerelease that way we don't have this dilema in the future.

I would hope that their aspirations are greater then making newer bigger better gifts to top their last gifts because players are whining, it will end up being just like that Canthan quest where the the wellfare is sending the homeless mirrors instead of tending to their needs, useless gifts. I am more concerned about revolutionary gameplay advancements, not revolutionary birthday gifts..... As long as they allow you to use more than one minipet in the future, so you can have all your minipets shown at once, I don't think they need to expand the gift ideas beyond that. They can think of something new and original for other events, holidays, and new holidays, it is good enough that we have these rare pets on our characters birthdays.

P.S. New uber dragon minipet for Chapter 3 CE.

Gaile already said they had the 2nd anniversary gifts planned out, and they're supposed to be amazing (or however she put it). I'd say you'll probably get ANOTHER mini (1 each year) and something else for the 2 year mark.

Chapter 2 is the Botombless Beer Barrel, there are 13 different one varrying in rarity and all of them have different effects, all of them Do have monsters randomly appearing (to you) and you randomly shouting out REAL obsenities...

And, on topic, I'd really like to see the present thing extended to account age, make it one-time only so you can use it on one char c_c

IF I had never wanted to start over I'd have four of them year old charas now. But instead, I started over some 3 times, and now my oldest is 4 months old. Annoying :P

I wouldn't expect anything special for July 4th given the international aspect of the game. That said though, June 21st is the summer solstice and we know an event is coming up a lot sooner than Halloween. I'm just guessing, but I can't think of any other potential dates that would qualify for a special day(s) in the game between now and halloween.

i pretty much agree on the july 4 one. but remember on christmas? wouldnt someone who celebrates a different relgion feel offened?i think a july 4th event would offend less peopel then x-mas

Yeah, but it was called Wintersday, not Christmas. I assume they did it for that reason: so it wouldn't offend.

July 4th is American and would potentially exclude other nations. Would Anet feel obliged to celebrate Bastille Day or other national holidays? Perhaps it will be a generic 'summer' event, disregarding the fact that it will be winter in the southern hemisphere (like Wintersday was in 'summer' for the southerners). You know, beach balls and whatnot.

As for the mini pets for second anniversary: I agree with DeanBB. Let's give a little variety, and something more special for those long time players. Pets will be 'old' by then.

A Summer event would be great

Let's all remove our armour/clothes and go swim at LA; bikinis for female characters and swimming shorts for the male ones (instead of the underwears)

And throw in some beach balls too.

Having birthday gifts which are tradeable makes people hold onto characters they don't play, just to get the gifts. Then the gifts being traded upset the economy. So to encourage people to play more character types gifts would be fixed to characters. However, those who like to experiment with new characters a lot are missing out, so I think an overall /age gift is in order in addition to individual character gifts.
However, having said that, I have enjoyed trying to collect a full set of mini pets for my younger active characters anyway.
I like many of the non pet suggestions here as gifts. Things like special crowns auras haloes and emotes would be lovely.
My suggestions for a pet would be a human kind of companion pet which you could copy NPC armour for (your companion while following you, would take on the appearance of your target NPC {or player even} using perhaps a special emote. And maybe it would be a ghost form rather than a mini. That way we could have a great choice of custom companions. If this poses difficulties due to people needing campaigns to see them then limit it to revert to a standard form on changing campaign or going to a PvP area.
As for standard monster pets, my personal preference would be for a pet aloe husk which doesn't follow you, but just sits there for a limited time after which it puts itself away.
